Taipei City Hospital

Health issues among the homeless are a crucial global preventive public health topic, and therefore, the Taipei City Hospital Zhongxing Branch has consistently upheld its mission to care for disadvantaged groups. Since 2010, it has implemented an infectious disease prevention program for the homeless, which has since expanded to include chronic disease management for this population. Through crosssectorcollaboration between public and private homeless support organizations, the medical services for the homeless were upgraded in 2022 and 2023. The upgraded medical services include the Street Family Medicine Free Clinic Program, liver cancer prevention, and the promotion of medical autonomy and dignified end-of-life care. These initiatives have significantly enhanced service accessibility and holistic healthcare. They have also adapted to address the COVID-19 pandemic or other infectious disease crises. By integrating medical resources and establishing a street medical protection network for the homeless, and ensuring that the homeless have access to affordable, high-quality basic medical and health services, this effort concretely fulfills SDG 3 , SDG 1andSDG17.
