CH Biotech R&D Co., LTD.

The project “Rice Field Fertilizer Reduction” by CH Biotech (CHB) employs hydrolysis green peptide technology to reduce fertilizer use in rice cultivation, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2, 12, and 13. The company’s peptide technology (known as PepRich), developed in 2023, enhances plant resilience, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and compensates for nutrient deficiencies caused by plant adversity. By engaging directly with farmers, it promotes sustainable farming methods. Data from four rice seasons over two years demonstrated that fertilizer use in cooperative rice fields decreased by 10 to 30%, while the yield increased by 6 to 19%. The project disseminates results and exchanges knowledge through education and training sessions. Additionally, it contributes to climate risk reduction by declining 15% of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-eq) and reduces overall environmental impact by 8 to 38%. With the project yielding positive results and receiving support and encouragement from farmers and other stakeholders, CHB is more driven to continue this endeavor to help build the sustainable future we all dream of.
