Beyond Arts Education, It’s Life Education! Opting for a deep-rooted approach towards arts education in remote areas, the CTBC Foundation for Arts and Culture initiated the “Dreams Initiative Project” in 2017. Working collaboratively with artistic mentors from various disciplines, the mentors are stationed in schools in remote areas to bring in-depth art courses to the children, seeking to broaden their horizons, strengthen their confidence, and accompany them to step onto dream stages. Through classes and alsoteaching by example, artistic mentors have become companions who encourage students to courageously pursue their dreams. Collaborating with the Eric Chang Pan Flute Ensemble, BulareyaungDance Company, Puppet & Its Double Theatre, and U Theatre, this project has been carried out throughout Taiwan, reaching places with limited art resources in areas, with a total of 2,572 students benefited from in seven years. The project is the first in Taiwan to have completed a SROI report for the area of the arts, and with every dollar invested, it can generate social value that’s worth $4.18, the project has been recognized with 27 awards in Taiwan and overseas.
