Transdisciplinarity Cultivation, Elderly Empowerment, Create LOHAS
In response to the trends of an aging society, our school is actively engaging in the community to promote elderly care in both Shigang District, Taichung City, and Shetou Township, Changhua County. The project in Shigang District, we aim to create a LOHAS Shigang and expand it to the communities surrounding our school, guided by the six elements of LOHAS (Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability), which include: 1.Enhancing public health literacy. 2.Training intergenerational community volunteers. 3.To facilitate students in comprehending the requirements of various communities and grasping the essence of international sustainable development through cross-border exchanges. 4.Introducing a variety of healthy aging issues from rural to urban areas. In Shetou Township, Changhua County, our project, "Community Health Building for Cross-Domain Elderly Care," is deeply rooted in rural areas. It comprises three main aspects: 1.Early detection of dementia cases and the formulation of brain health prescriptions. 2.Empowering senior elderly volunteers to engage in "self-help" rather than being solely "cared for." 3.Training community volunteers as health gatekeepers within the community.
