Longchen P&P reverses rural poverty with education
Starting with one school, LPP is committed to helping schools in remote areas by helping student put their first step forward in the right direction, then return to the society when they have grown up, and bring back with them the momentum of innovation to help the community thrive.
Instead of conventional physical or monetary donations, MJHS is assisting MJHS students by “teaching them to fish rather than giving them fish”. The self-improvement project by MJHS in 2022 shifts its efforts from providing MJHS students with resources to motivate them to be able learn independently. The project is aimed to assist MJHS students in determining early the direction of their high school education, reducing the change of poor adaption which, most likely, results in poor performances and possibly even dropping out.
In 2022, the self-improvement project implemented the social impact assessment (SROI) to promote 5 measures, calculate the benefits brought about annually, assess whether the promotion measures can produce greater social influence, and fine tune the project accordingly. The SROI is estimated at 1.4 now, i.t. every one NT dollar input would result in 1.4 dollar of social influence.
