Prevention of Oral Frailty of the Elderly in Rural Areas - The Happiness Oral Care and Eating Project
Around 21.5% of individuals over 65 in Taiwan are entirely toothless. In 2022, 308 seniors with dementia living in remote rural areas participated in oral evaluation, which revealed a correlation between oral health and frailty. The Best Action Plan that included creating instructional videos,manuals, and podcasts; Build a network of elite volunteers; establish a texture diet development group to create nutritious recipes; Co-create a community senior texture dishes program to improve oral health among the elderly in the community. Created local oral and intestinal function activation exercise audio and manual textbooks, with a total of 2,870 viewers; launched asynchronous oral and intestinal health and health preservation series textbooks, with a download volume of 6,545. Qingyin has joined to introduce oral health to 38 towns and 87 communities in Yunjia. Oral muscle strength tests reached 9,084 person-times; 18 Qingyin seed teachers served 6,088 person-times for elders.Established a texture diet development group for older adults, developed 33 dishes of "Love Health and Silver Nourishing Recipes," and introduced them to 29 community dementia care center.
