CPC's Road toward Gender Equity
To promote gender equality and empower women, CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC) has implemented various measures over the years. In the 1970s, when most women chose to work in factories with poor working conditions to support their families, CPC became the first to employ female gas station attendants and provide car washing services. This set an example for women's liberation from factories, significantly increasing Taiwan's female employment rate. In recent years, in response to the economic downturn, CPC has actively assisted single mothers and women seeking re-employment in finding job opportunities.
CPC is committed to creating a gender-friendly workplace by providing high-quality certified lactation rooms, supporting childcare leave, and reducing working hours for female employees. CPC also reduced working hours for employees with children under 3 starting in March 2022.
In the practice of women's empowerment, CPC hired the first female deputy general manager in the history of state-owned enterprises in 2016, continues to increase the proportion of female senior executives, and appoints female senior executives to participate in overseas business management training courses.
