5G application on remote rural healthcare
Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) plans a model of one-day free medical services on the health issues of rural communities. Experienced medical staff and technicians provide medical assessment and treatment for rural area residents. We also apply 5G technology to transmit high-speed high-resolution images of on-site consultations to the smart audio-visual collaboration platform, mainly as an auxiliary tool for medical service in rural areas. In the case of a complex disease, connections can be directed to a professional medical team for instant advice. In this way, zero-distance and medical-center-level services can be delivered to residents in rural areas, greatly narrowing the gap in the availability of medical resources between urban and rural areas.
