Plan Out the Innolux Net-Zero Blueprint
In response to the emerging global trend of Net-Zero by 2050, Innolux formed our Carbon Risk Management Committee for our Net-Zero Roadmap to shape our corporate culture through industry-academia collaboration. We have pledged to offset 25% of our 2020 greenhouse gases, use renewable energy in 20% of our sites in the Greater China regions (RE20), and reduce 20% of carbon emissions of key suppliers by 2030.
In 2022, we challenged ourselves to a 25% absolute reduction of 2.528 million tons of CO2e by 2030 based on our record of 3.37 million tons in 2020. We managed to cut 2.787 million tons (17.30%) and generate 21,010,080 kWh of renewable energy with comprehensive energy-saving solutions by sourcing green energy, setting internal carbon pricing, optimizing processes and equipment, instituting a circular economy, and entering partnerships.
Under the leadership of our Chairman, President, and Procurement Director, we have implored key suppliers to reduce 20% of their carbon footprint by 2030, transition from low-carbon to net-zero manufacturing under the DCIRN, expand carbon neutral targets, benefit from cost and carbon reduction, become climate-positive, strengthen operational resilience, sharpen their competitive edge, and show determination for sustainable management.
