CPC Corporation, Taiwan 台灣中油股份有限公司

The Pioneer of Petrochemical Carbon Footprint
CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC) is committed to reducing carbon emissions through product carbon footprint analysis. In addition to understanding the carbon emission hotspots in their production process to effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it also provides the analysis results to midstream and downstream companies in the petrochemical industry, helping them conduct carbon footprint analysis for their own products.
In 2022, CPC completed the carbon footprint analysis of 21 petrochemical, solvent, and lubricant products and obtained a third-party verification statement. At the end of the year, CPC held a conference in the Kaohsiung to present the results of the carbon footprint analysis, with the expectation that it will be the role in assisting domestic industries to conduct carbon emission analysis.
The Climate Change Adaptation Act passed earlier this year and the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which will be piloted in October, will both impose fees and taxes on carbon emissions. CPC 's carbon footprint achievement will serve as a demonstration of the analysis process and lead the industry towards low-carbon emission development.
