Double Jiazi(cycle of sixty years), Double Guarding: The Holistic Resilient Health Care System for the Elderly
Our hospital was established in 1905 and its aim is to become a world-class community hospital. Our branch abides by “inclusion, compassion & value co-creation” to integrate stakeholders as one-third of our patients are over 65 years of age. Alluding to the baseball stadium, we propose a holistic resilient health system for the elderly. This plan includes defensive “infield” (inside hospital) and “outfield”(outside hospital). In the infield, we proactively create a holistic and integrated healthcare system that is patient-centered. In the outfield, value co-creation is generated by connecting community clinics and citizens, private care institutions, and NPOs to lessen medical burden and improve quality of care. In the year of 2021, we have invested an estimated USD 1.1 million and in terms of human resource, 343 employees with an external participation rate of 72%. With more than 95% satisfaction rate, approximately 5,000 elderlies have received medical care. The reduction of avoidable return trips to the hospital have helped saved an estimated USD 1.3 million. We have demonstrated how a hospital can build a resilient healthcare system to contribute to sustainable operations.
